Volunteering & Internship

The Organisation believes that each individual has unique strengths and hence can contribute in her own way for the well-being of disadvantaged. OSERD seeks to motivate and enable people and institutions from diverse segments of society to invest their time and talents to create a sustainable change in the lives of disadvantaged people. Interns/Volunteers are part of Voluntary Action.

Our scheme of Internship seeks to engage students pursuing Undergraduate / Graduate / Post Graduate students from any stream in India or abroad. These Interns get a chance to explore, know and contribute to important mainstream work of the organisation ranging from public mobilisation, fact-finding research, field exposure, documentation, pilot project ideas, learn the threads of organising events, rope in media advocacy skills, and many more.

The Volunteering scheme seeks to engage students, businesspersons, working persons, professionals, home makers, who are willing to intensively contribute their skills, knowledge and time. Volunteers can choose specific task depending on either proximity to their residence / area of interest to be able to engage in collective action with other volunteers. A Volunteer can also choose be a Virtual Volunteer and contribute to online campaigns or initiate a new campaign in their neighbourhood /corporate /residential association or among their professional network based on guidance of a OSERD. In either of the type of volunteering chosen, volunteers are expected to commit a reasonable amount of time and perform the task whole-heartedly.

Interns/Volunteers should believe in values upheld by OSERD – Respect for Human Dignity, Transparency, Innovation, Accountability, Secularism, Non Violence, Working in Partnership.

We do not see Interns/Volunteers as additional human resources to aid our work; rather as creation of human capital that would contribute to the making of a better world.
